22. Advertising – This is definitely the most old-school way of earning money with a blog. It’s also starting to become the least common way. You can sell advertising spots directly on your site or you can sign up with a company like Google AdSense or Media.net. Either way, you won’t see a whole lot of money from ads until your views are well into the thousands each day.
Use long tail keywords. Don’t just go with the most popular keywords in your market. Use keywords that are more specific to your product or service. In time, Google and other search engines will identify your website or blog as a destination for that particular subject, which will boost your content in search rankings and help your ideal customers find you. Be human. As a data guy, it’s easy to forget that numbers aren’t everything. Add author profiles and assign authors to your blog posts to be more authentic. Additionally, don’t take your SEO obsession to the extreme. If new users who don’t know you have to make five clicks just to read an article on your blog, they will probably just get annoyed and leave instantly due to the negative user experience. Set up and test your popups with users in mind so they only show up when people already know who you are and are more likely to convert.
Research selling prices of items similar to yours. Look up completed sales or current listings of items similar to yours. The website in the case listed was a client who has taken on an agency who was doing lower quality SEO work which was affecting the site such as the huge link network and a strategy which only revolved around mainly head terms. We saw no long tail integration from the old agency's strategy, so we were able to yield great results to begin with. The clients site has 100's of high quality articles which we were able to re optimize and update as noted. Further to this they had a large index of high quality pages to work from. Sure enough the points listed above were key elements to a far wider strategy which could be 100's of points. I just wanted to include some of the biggest wins and easy to implement points.

I’ve always been one to create great content, but now I see it may not necessarily be the right content.
